The WA Good Food Guide Awards Night is almost here, and it just might be the biggest night on WA’s hospitality calendar. The wait is over—Angelwood Pies has officially opened its doors in Leederville. Behind the venture is Richard Overbye, whose fine-dining pedigree includes stints at Restaurant Amuse, Michelin three-star Maaemo, and Melbourne’s Amaru. You might also remember him from last year’s pop-up, Super Glou. Now, he’s bringing that expertise to the humble pie, with an ever-changing menu featuring fillings like barramundi curry and lamb shank with black olive & polenta.

From Nino La Verghetta, the man behind Leederville’s Pappagallo, Coccodrillo Pizza & Vino has opened in Cottesloe—and the pizzas are elite. Stick to the classics with the Pizze Rosse or Pizza Bianche ranges, or venture into the Pizze Gourmet menu for something truly unique. Expect pizza sauces made from carrot, beetroot or chickpea puree, with toppings like home-made soy ricotta and black sesame seeds. It might sound unconventional, but they’re the brainchild of head chef Romolo Gargarella—who honed his skills at the renowned School of Italian Culinary Arts, Alma—so it’s worth a try. What do Shui, Margot’s and Papi Katsu have in common? They’re all creations of the Sesh Mafia team, and their latest venture—Lupes Cerveceria—has just opened underground at Brookfield Place. It’s all about fun, cocktails and tequila galore, with an extensive line up of mezcal, micheladas and signature slushies. The food menu is short but satisfying with tacos, tostadas and taquitos.

Faradays Opens in London House
Whether you’re after a long leisurely meal, a quick drink, or something in between, Faradays has opened at London House on St George’s Terrac,e and everyone is welcome. The Mexican vibes continue at Sol y Sombra, a desert-inspired pop-up that has taken over Rooftop at QT until 1 May. Expect Mexican-inspired food and drinks, with Don Julio cocktails and Balter beers to quench your thirst, while bites like kingfish ceviche and al pastor pork tostadas fuel you for a night under the stars.

Been missing the wild nights of your youth at Tiger Lil’s? No? Well, good news—its sleeker, more refined sibling, Lil’s Rooftop Bar, has just opened, and it’s a cut above. Designed by Rotheloman architects,the venue features three distinct spaces. The main bar serves up classic pub grub and Italian-inspired dishes, while the focus at the rooftop bar is on cocktails and shared plates.
